About & Data Sources
Closest Airports helps you find and compare airports near US cities. The Site is operated by Kyrios Learning LLC. Use the airport list, map, and comparison table as a starting point for planning your trip.
Data Used on This Site
- Airport records are sourced from the OurAirports data repository. We use a stored copy of airport names, coordinates, codes, municipalities, and scheduled-service status. Airport links lead to official websites where available, or to Wikipedia.
- City data is sourced from World Population Review. City locations use the reference coordinates in this dataset. Your actual starting address may be closer to a different airport.
- Map tiles are provided by OpenStreetMap contributors.
How Airports Are Ranked
We include airports marked as having scheduled service in our dataset, excluding heliports and seaplane bases. Airports are ranked by straight-line distance from the city's reference coordinates, calculated using the Haversine formula. The cards and map show the ten nearest options; the comparison table shows twenty. The closest airport is not necessarily the best choice for your flight, fare, or ground transportation.
Distance & Drive-Time Estimates
Distances are straight-line miles, not road distances. Drive times are rough estimates based on an average speed of 42 mph, with a 15-minute minimum. We do not calculate driving routes or use live traffic. Check a routing service for directions and allow extra time for parking, check-in, and security.
Data Accuracy & Availability
Airport records are not live flight schedules. Service, routes, and airport details may change, and the dataset may contain errors or outdated information. Confirm current flights and facilities with the airport or airline before booking or traveling.
